An outstanding creative project
Barrie Beard Ltd has recently completed its work on the Life and Mind Building in Oxford.
This advanced facility features five storeys allocated for offices and subject testing booths, along with an adjacent five-storey block that includes specialised laboratories, imaging facilities, and workshops. Lecture spaces are located in the basement and ground floors.
The Life and Mind Building is the largest construction project the University has undertaken, significantly enhancing psychological and biological sciences in Oxford and aiding researchers in addressing global challenges. It will house the Department of Experimental Psychology and a new Department of Biology, merging the Departments of Plant Sciences and Zoology.
Designed to foster research and education in biology and psychology, this 25,000 m² facility serves as a hub for empowering students, researchers, and the broader community.
We look forward to the positive impact this facility will have on the community and the future research which will help the university to train a new generation of scientists who will be equipped to help address critical global challenges.
