Powering Creativity at Arch64

Barrie Beard Electrical was delighted to play a key role in the transformation of The Arches, situated in the heart of Worcester on Foregate Street. Originally constructed during the Victorian era, these striking historic arches are rich in character and heritage. Today, they are being thoughtfully reimagined as a vibrant cultural destination, providing a home for creative and independent businesses within the city.

One of the most exciting additions to this evolving space is Arch 64, a new art gallery designed to celebrate creativity while honouring the building’s historic roots. The project carefully balances the preservation of original architectural features with the demands of a modern, functional environment.

Our team was appointed to carry out the complete electrical installation to support the redevelopment. The scope of works included the installation of high-quality linear standard and emergency lighting from Luceco Group, ensuring the space is both well illuminated and fully compliant with safety standards. We also delivered the electrical installation for a new accessible toilet, installed electric panel heaters throughout the unit to provide efficient and reliable heating, and completed the full wiring of the fire alarm system.

Projects like this are always a privilege to be part of. Blending historic architecture with modern electrical solutions requires careful planning, attention to detail, and respect for the building’s character. We’re proud to have contributed to breathing new life into one of Worcester’s distinctive spaces, helping create a safe, welcoming environment for the city’s growing creative community.
