Project Objectives
The primary objective was to deliver a high-quality, fully coordinated electrical installation across a complex Grade II listed building, while ensuring all specialist systems operated correctly and in accordance with the client's specification.
A key focus was maintaining a strong working relationship with BAM Construction, coordinating effectively with other trades and specialist subcontractors, and delivering the project safely, on programme and in a commercially successful position.
Project Challenges
Working within a Grade II listed building presented significant challenges. The existing structure and architectural features had to be carefully considered throughout the installation, with restricted areas and unforeseen obstacles requiring solutions that balanced the requirements of the modern electrical installation with the need to preserve the character of the building.
Close coordination, careful planning and a flexible approach were essential to overcome these challenges and maintain progress throughout the project.
Successful Delivery
Despite the complexities associated with working within a historic listed building, Barrie Beard successfully delivered the electrical installation to the required standard and programme.
The project demonstrates our ability to deliver complex, multi-service electrical installations within challenging environments, combining technical expertise, specialist coordination and practical problem-solving while maintaining the integrity of the existing building.
