Epping Leisure Centre, Epping

 

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the full electrical installation at the brand-new Epping Leisure Centre, delivered on behalf of Pellikaan Construction. 

 

This flagship facility is now one of the most modern and energy-efficient leisure centres in the district, designed to serve the local community while supporting the council’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2030. 

 

The new centre includes: 

A key element of the project was the installation of a fully LED lighting solution throughout the building using Flick Lighting. By installing all lighting to high-efficiency LED luminaires, the centre has significantly reduced its energy consumption and long-term maintenance requirements. 

 

The internal lighting design has been carefully developed to harmonise with natural daylight. Through the integration of occupancy sensors and intelligent lighting controls, the system ensures energy is only used when and where it is needed, maximising efficiency without compromising on comfort or performance. 

 

The installation incorporates a combination of: 

Externally, we installed lighting to illuminate the car park, pedestrian walkways, and building egress points, improving safety, accessibility, and visibility across the site. 

 

To support the demands of this state-of-the-art facility, we supplied and installed new TPN sub-distribution boards sized appropriately for each area of the building. These boards provide reliable power distribution for lighting and small power systems throughout the centre. 

 

The distribution boards, manufactured by Hager Group from their Invicta range, consist of a mixture of: 

This robust infrastructure ensures safe, compliant, and efficient power management across the entire site. 

 

As part of the overall electrical package, we oversaw the installation of comprehensive security systems to protect the building and its users. 

 

An intruder detection and alarm system has been installed to safeguard the premises during unoccupied hours, providing reliable protection against unauthorised access. 

 

A new entrance turnstile system has been installed within the main reception area to manage user flow and efficiently separate members and non-members. The turnstile system was supplied, installed, and commissioned by our specialist subcontractor, Omega Security Systems. 

 

In addition, a full CCTV system has been installed to provide internal and external surveillance coverage, further enhancing safety and operational control. This system was also delivered in partnership with Omega Security Systems. 

 

The completion of Epping Leisure Centre demonstrates our ability to deliver large-scale electrical installations that combine sustainability, innovation, and reliability.
