King Edward House: Office Refurbishment Nears Completion in Central Birmingham

Barrie Beard Electrical Contractors Ltd. is nearing completion of another office refurbishment project in the heart of Birmingham, working alongside Rhino Interiors at King Edward House.

Originally constructed in 1936, King Edward House is an impressive seven-storey building featuring a distinctive Portland stone façade and strong Art Deco architectural character.

As part of the refurbishment, we delivered a comprehensive energy-efficient LED lighting installation across all floors, carefully selecting high-quality fittings from Glamox, ASD Lighting and Light Forms UK to complement the building's existing character while providing modern, efficient lighting for its future occupants.

The project also included the installation of a complete fire alarm system, delivered in collaboration with Clymac, alongside enhanced security infrastructure including CCTV and access control systems, working with Omega.

Sustainability has also been an important consideration, with solar panels installed on the building's roof in collaboration with Carbon3. The installation will help reduce the building's carbon footprint and support a more energy-efficient and sustainable workspace for its future occupants.

As the project approaches completion, we are proud to have contributed to the transformation of this historic Birmingham building into a modern, efficient and sustainable working environment.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in delivering the project, and particularly to our Barrie Beard team for their hard work, professionalism and dedication throughout.
