3 Peaks in the Paper
On behalf of the BB Ltd 3 Peaks Team and all of us a Barrie Beard Ltd, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to the 3 worthy causes and supported the challengers. Also a big thank you to the drivers, Russell Beard, John Barnes, Kevin Mills, Adam Woodward and Simon Harrod, who ‘ferried’ our team between mountains; the team couldn’t have done it without your support.
All 13 challengers completed the 3 Peaks Challenge in under 24 hrs. They were all exhausted but thrilled to have taken part. The justgiving website is still accumulating donations, but they have smashed through the target of £6k…. Well done to everyone concerned..
Our intrepid team of climbers have now set off on their ‘3 Peaks Challenge’. 2 minibuses and a car left at 10:00 am loaded to gunnels with kit bags, supplies and 3 lucky four leaf clovers!
Not long now until our ‘wonderfully mad BB bunch’ leave on Friday morning to travel to Scotland for the start of their challenge… Best of luck to you all (including the drivers!) Take lots of photos guys (and gal)..
The Advertiser put a little snippet in the newspaper which is below, but I will be here Friday to wave my hubby off into the wilderness, so hopefully I’ll be able to take a photo of you all in your charity t-shirts, and then we’ll be able to get a picture in the next edition too..
As of a minute ago you have raised £4,257.50 – but I know there are extra written cash donations logged too…2:42PM 26/06/2019

Kerry Sloane, Community Fundraising Officer, Sands says “Sands is extremely grateful to all the employees at Barrie Beard Ltd who have been fundraising for Sands with their Three Peaks Challenge. Their fantastic efforts will ensure we can continue to fund our important work and support anyone affected by the death of a baby.”
Amy Flemming, Fundraiser, Primrose Hospice says “We are thrilled that the team at Barrie Beard Ltd. Are once again taking on a huge challenge for Primrose Hospice. Following the brave skydive in 2018 where the team raised a phenomenal £3,500.00, we are so excited to see how the team get on this year with their 3 Peaks Challenge.Primrose Hospice must raise over £1.7million annually and the majority of this comes from our incredibly supportive community so we are so grateful for the dedicated support of local businesses like Barrie Beard Ltd. for raising money and awareness of such an important charity. Primrose Hospice is there when people need it most and all of its services are free for people and their families living with life-limiting illnesses. But we must continue to fund raise to make sure we are able to offer those services for free.”
Charlie Ely, Events Fundraising Assistant,Target Ovarian Cancer says “A huge thank you to everyone at Barrie Beard who has been fundraising for Target Ovarian Cancer with the national Three Peaks Challenge, particularly to those who will be undergoing this intense 24-hour trek! These generous efforts will help to transform the futures of the more than 25,000 women in the UK who are living with ovarian cancer, and thousands more who are yet to be diagnosed. This support will help to fund a unique face-to-face support programme, a nurse-led support line, improvements in early diagnosis and a national ovarian cancer research programme.”
To keep you up to date with our 3 Peaks Challenge – Training went well in the Malvern Hills on Sunday 24th March 2019 – Next training walk is 28th April 2019 when we will do another 12 miles in a maximum of 4.5 hrs to ensure that we are ALL on track to attempt the 3 Peaks in 24hrs. Thank you for your support – Regards Warren Beard.
They have been training both individually and as a team at the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire, come rain or shine! (See photographs below)
They will be climbing Ben Nevis, Scotland’s biggest mountain at 1344 meters, Scafell Pike, England’s biggest mountain at 978 meters and Snowdon, the biggest mountain in Wales at 1085 meters.
All 3 of our chosen charities have an emotional connection to some of the people who work at Barrie Beard Ltd, and in turn we want to show our support to them by raising as much money as possible.
We are trying to achieve an equal amount of money raised for our 3 charities, so please bear this in mind if you are kind enough to donate any money for these worthy causes.
