Friends of Blackmarston School Ptfa - Steve Beck of Speller Metcalf is Cycling 122 miles.....

Steve says......... 'I am riding the 122 mile Wolverhampton to Aberdovey bike ride on the 21st June 2013 to try to raise money for the Blackmarston School Sensory Appeal. Blackmarston is Herefordshire’s only primary special school for pupils with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties from age 2 to 11. Currently there are approx 74 pupils who attend, the numbers are continuing to rise.  The school was built for 40 so as you can imagine it is bursting at the seams ! The Local Authority are funding an extension to the building which I am currently involved with.  However, in these very tight economic times the funding will not provide for the very important sensory equipment for their new light and dark rooms and for new play areas – this equipment is, of course, extremely expensive but this is where i hope that you may feel able help.' http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/SteveBeck

On 7th June 2013, after 23 loyal years, Rose Humphries decided to 'hang up her computer lead' and take time to relax in her retirement.

Rose was a dedicated and extremely professional employee and we would like to send her our very best wishes for a happy and adventurous retirement.

Barrie Beard Ltd and some of the Superdream team of Feckenham40 walkers.

WE DID IT ! Feckhenham 40 Walk Completed.... 40 Miles - 20 Villages - 1 Day.  Raising money for Primrose Hospice & Macmillan Cancer Support

Firstly a very big thank you to all who supported and sponsored the Six Barrie Beard 40 Milers.

The weather was kind to them and made for perfect walking conditions (even if we had a minute or two of hail!)

They all crossed the finish line and enjoyed a well earned drink at the Rose and Crown in Feckenham, Worcestershire.

Graham and Wayne came in together at 9 hours 3 minutes

Warren and Anna came in together at 9 hours 21 minutes

Dan came in at 9 hours 57 minutes (His baby (below) joined him for the last mile!)

Melissa (a new Mom herself) walked over 20 miles until blisters took hold but after treatment she walked the last mile with her Dad (Wayne).

We must also acknowledge our support drivers, Kevin Mills and Darren Bore (Barrie Beard electricians) who gave up their Saturday to help.

The total raised so far is just over £13,000.00!

This has been a well supported charity event and we thank you all for your generosity, support and kindness.

With very best regards
