Friends of Blackmarston School Ptfa - Steve Beck of Speller Metcalf is Cycling 122 miles.....

Steve says......... 'I am riding the 122 mile Wolverhampton to Aberdovey bike ride on the 21st June 2013 to try to raise money for the Blackmarston School Sensory Appeal. Blackmarston is Herefordshire’s only primary special school for pupils with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties from age 2 to 11. Currently there are approx 74 pupils who attend, the numbers are continuing to rise.  The school was built for 40 so as you can imagine it is bursting at the seams ! The Local Authority are funding an extension to the building which I am currently involved with.  However, in these very tight economic times the funding will not provide for the very important sensory equipment for their new light and dark rooms and for new play areas – this equipment is, of course, extremely expensive but this is where i hope that you may feel able help.'
