Barrie Beard Ltd were responsible for the complete design and installations to 23 units. The main part of the project consisted of two-storey office accommodation for Airwave, which incorporated 2 large computer rooms which were responsible for the logging and distribution of the emergency service telephone calls. The communication rooms were backed up so as to afford the building N+1 capability.
Barrie Beard Ltd’s scope of work included:
- Daylight linking lighting controls
- Installation of two 1,000kVA back-up generators
- Two 800kVA uninterruptible power supply units
- Two 1,000kVA HV/LV transformers including LV meter tails
- All low voltage switchgear including automatic changeover panels
- Power distribution units to computer rooms, including surge protection
- Specialised supplies to all Motorola equipment
- Anti-static earth nests to computer rooms
- Emergency lighting system
- Fire alarm system
- Close circuit television equipment / installation
- Security installations including intruder and door access controls
- All small power including under-floor busbar systems
- External lighting including street lighting
